Club Competitions 2020+

Make sure you know the COVID rules - they change from time to time.

Find your opponents, and enter scores, in the relevant tab on the Google Sheets draw sheet. If you cannot access the link, contact Ray Ransom.

Book a court in the Google Sheets Diary Booking System. Report your results online or by contacting the event organiser, and maintain your handicap card. See Member Information to download a handicap card.

There are some spare positions within some blocks for those who enter late - contact Ray.

Each event has a separate organiser, whose contact details are in the membership list, or (if shared) in the online membership database.

The time-limits for AC allow for a short knock-up (5-minutes) and an additional 10-minutes to cover time-turns within a two-hour or three-hour booking slot.

For GC, there is a 75-minute time-limit, for which you should book a two-hour slot to allow for a short knock-up (5-minutes) and an additional 10-minutes to cover play after time is called. At some times of day it's possible to book 1½ hours, which is even better.

For One-Ball, there is a 50-minute time-limit, for which you should book a one-hour slot to allow for a short knock-up (5-minutes) and an additional 5-minutes to cover play after time is called.

The Club will remain open throughout the winter months with some closures for maintenance work. If winter-play becomes unappealing to you, please withdraw from the competition by letting the organiser know.

All games are played according to the Rules of Golf Croquet or Laws of Association Croquet and, where relevant, to the CA Tournament Regulations.

  1. For all events played in blocks, the number of blocks will be determined by total entries and there will be a play-off between block winners.
  2. Tournament Regulation T2/T4. governs what happens when time expires.
  3. All games played, except in the One-Ball and Beginners' Competition, should be recorded on your handicap card (AC/GC/SC) as input to the Automatic Handicapping System (AHS). If you play only in club events then you are excused from keeping a Short Croquet handicap card - use your AC handicap converted. You can download from the CA website an AC Handicap Card or a GC Handicap Card
